A Mombasa Court on Monday sentenced three brothers to serve six months in jail if they fail to pay a fine of Sh20,000 each for attacking their uncle.
The three, Mr Rashid Ali, Mr Hamisi Ali and Mr Ramah Ali were accused of attacking Mr Rashid Bakari and inflicting him bodily harm.
The court was told that the three accused persons committed the offence on September 26 at Shika Adabu in Mombasa.
The prosecution said that on the material date, the three were at a family meeting when an argument ensured between the family members.
During the argument the three are said to have attacked their uncle who was in his farm working. The court heard that Mr Bakari was attacked with a hoe which he was using at that time.
According to the prosecution, Mr Bakari sustained serious physical injuries and he was treated at a local hospital.
Mombasa Senior Principal Magistrate Simon Rotich found the accused guilty of the charges, saying the prosecution has proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Magistrate Rotich ordered the three to pay a fine of Sh20,000 each or be jailed.
