A couple heading home from a burial was killed by a speeding lorry along the Naivasha-Maai-Mahiu road on Friday.
The couple was killed near the Maai-Mahiu IDP camp at as they headed home after attending a burial.
James Njoroge, a witness, said the two were preparing to cross the road when the trailer heading to Maai-Mahiu from Naivasha ran over them.
“The two were on the roadside and the trailer which was speeding lost control and ran over them. The two died on the spot and the lorry driver surrendered to the police,” he said.
Separately, a motorcyclist was killed along the Moi South Lake while on his way home.
The flower farm worker was heading towards DCK trading centre when the car hit him from behind, killing him on the spot.
“The car driver left his lane and hit the motorcycle operator before running over him. He died on the spot,” a witness said.
Naivasha deputy OCPD, Agnes Amojong, confirmed both incidents adding that both drivers were in police custody. She blamed both incidents on careless driving and speeding.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the local mortuary.
