Moiben MCA Cyrus Tiring has asked the Uasin Gishu county government to establish modern markets for traders at the Moiben shopping centre.
Speaking to the press at Moiben Trading Centre on Friday, the MCA said that traders and hawkers in the area lack markets.
He noted that traders are being forced to hawk their goods from one place to another.
Tiring said that despite the county government promising to establish markets for traders nothing has happened.
“The Uasin Gishu county government should listen to the pleas of Moiben traders and build markers for them,” he said
Tiring said that since traders are paying levies the county government must built modern markets.
“It is the responsibility of the county government to make sure that traders have good environment for their business,” he said.
The MCA said that traders are tired of requesting the county government and that they will now demand the county to have markets established.
On the same note, the MCA asked the county to improve on drainage systems.
He stated that drainage systems in the ward are wanting. The MCA said traders and residents are inconvenienced during rains as the system get clogged.
