Three top primary schools from Nyamira County in national exams received learning materials from Kenya libraries chairman.

Eronge primary, St Andrew’s Kaggwa and Dorcus Sigara academy received the materials from Mr Sam Nyageso who was touring the region for the second time since he was elected as the head of libraries in the country.

On Tuesday, Mr Nyangeso said his department was focused to improve the learning conditions in several institutions for improved performance.

“Passing exams isn’t easy because learning centres must be equipped with learning materials and that is what I am doing. I want to see our children getting the materials for the betterment of performance,” he said.

He said the programme of equipping learning institutions with books would be extended to all 47 counties for the purpose of making competition among institutions favourable.

“My department is looking forward to ensure that a number of schools per county are equipped properly. By doing so, we will make educational competition favorable to all parties,” he said.

He reiterated the commitment of the government to ensure that at least all the devolved units are served with a national library for the sake of availing information to the general public.

St Andrew’s Kaggwa has been in the country education map after managing to emerge among the top three best schools in the nation with a record average marks of 367 in 2014 KCPE.
