Two youths were on Monday arrested by Matutu police for allegedly being involved in rampant cases of child abduction in the region.

“They have been a menace to the region and we pointed that out long time ago. It is important that they have been arrested to answer those charges. This is a major step and we want to laud the security personnel for this tremendous success,” said Mrs Irene Okeri on behalf of the residents.
They called for expeditious prosecution of the suspects in a bid to solve the mystery surround the mysterious loss of three other children.
“The only child who has been rescued is anonymous to this village but it will be also important that they are held to account for the kidnapping of three other children from the locality,” she added.
Mutiso lauded the residents for cooperation and promised expeditious prosecution of the two individuals for the sake of justice.
“This is a major step and I want to thank locals for helping us achieve this. They will be subjected to court before the end of this week since we have witnesses who are ready to testify,” he said.
