Police in Juja are holding two men for allegedly threatening area MP Francis Waititu.
The two who were apprehended on Wednesday morning at Milimaini in Juja town, are said to have been working for a businessman in the area whose business was raided during the fight against illicit brew.
They are alleged to have been dropping threatening messages at the entrance of the MPs home in Juja Constituency.
Area OCS Luke Odiwuor said that they have been investigating the incident since the MP received the first threat. He says they are pursuing other suspects who might be involved in the incident.
“We got the information and we have been investigating on the same. We have arrested them this morning around Milimaini area in Juja town,” he said.
The businessman, who is alleged to have drawn a gun at the legislator, has sued the MP for allegedly destroying his property in the name of fighting illicit brew.
He says during the crackdown on illegal alcohol, most of his property was destroyed despite their being no illicit brew in his premises.
They will be arraigned in court on Thursday August 13.
