Two men are being held at Gesonso Police station after they were arrested early Wednesday morning, with over 200 rolls of bhang and 20 litres of iliicit brew in Nyamaya Village, Bonchari sub-county.
Leading the operation, area Chief Joseph Mosumari said he was given a tip off by neighbours to the two men, who had been doing the business at a kiosk that they purported to be selling cigarettes only.
The two suspects; Zacharia Omayo and Edwin Ogeto are said to have been selling the drugs to area youths and even minors.
Mosumari thanked the public for reporting the matter after they managed to raid the kiosk and found the narcotics.
“We are not going to tolerate any kind of drug selling in the area, and we want everyone to be vigilant and report any case that he comes across so that drug abuse cases can be handled,” said Mosumari.
Currently, the two suspects are being held at Gesonso police station awaiting to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
