Two men arrested in connection with a spate of house break-ins at an estate in Nakuru town have been charged by a Nakuru court with burglary.
Paul Wanyama and Benard Njoroge, who appeared before chief magistrate Samuel Mungai, faced charges of stealing household electronics on diverse dates between July 1 and July 7 this year, at Kiamunyi estate in the outskirts of Nakuru town.
The duo denied that, jointly with others who were not in court, they broke into the residence of Vincent Mariga and made away with electronic goods valued at Sh100,000.
Prosecutor Cosmas Ikunywa further told the court that the two and their accomplices who are still at large broke into the house of Stanley Boigo at night and stole property worth Sh80,000. The suspects denied the additional charges.
Njoroge separately faced another charge of handling stolen property. The court heard that he was found with three gas cylinders and a water dispenser at Nakuru town. The two were arrested on Sunday morning by police officers attached to Kiamunyi chief’s camp before being presented in court.
Hearing of the case was slated for September 16 this year.
