The two, Evans Kipsang and Martin Okumu denied the charges before Rresident Magistrate Philip Oilo for the offence they are alleged to have committed on August 1, 2015 at Maseno bus stop.

According to the prosecution desk, the two accused persons who also work as touts at the Maseno bus stop attacked Geofrey Otieno after a disagreement on how to share their money.

It is alleged that they had Sh170 which was to be shared equally among them, but Otieno opted to take a big chunk leading to the disagreement.

The prosecution desk said the accused attacked the complainant and beat him up leaving him with head, back and leg injuries. He was taken to the Maseno Coptic Hospital where he was treated and discharged after a day.

The accused were arrested on August 4 at the same bus stop after Otieno made a formal police complaint.

They were released on a cash bail of Sh5,000 with surety of a similar amount pending the hearing of the case on September 14, 2015.
