The county government of Uasin Gishu will sponsor firemen from the county to get specialised fire fighting training in the United States of America.
The two firemen will undergo training at the University of Minneapolis on how to tackle fires and emergencies related to their career. Speaking in Eldoret on Tuesday, Ms Miriam Kosgei, the Chief Officer Public Service Management in the county said that this training had come as a result of a partnership between the county government and the International Leadership Institute based in the United States.
Kosgei also said that this partnership had seen Uasin Gishu County receive two fire fighting trucks from the International Leadership Institute.
“We have partnered with ILI since 2000.We exchange ideas and knowledge. They have also donated fire fighting trucks for our county in the past," she said. Kosgei was speaking at the opening of the training forum for Uasin Gishu members by the International Leadership Institute organised by the county government.
