Uasin Gishu county will employ 300 health workers in the newly established level four county hospitals and existing hospitals in a effort to improve efficiency in service delivery.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno said the county government will also make sure that all county hospitals are fully equipped with modern equipment and drugs as they bring betterservices to the grassroots.
"Uasin Gishu County Government has set aside a whooping Sh120 million in this financial year in to employ the three hundred nurses and an additional Sh30 million for the purchase of drugs and soon cases of shortage of drugs in the county hospitals will be a thing of the past," he said.
He revealed that the national government has given out Sh700 Million for the renovation of the former district hospital which has been in a dilapidated condition to an ultra-modern hospital to cater for the increasing number of patients in the region.
The deputy governor urged the public to stay vigilant to report any laxity in service delivery promising to take actions against those who deny patients their right to proper healthcare.
