Uasin Gishu Lands and Housing Executive Mr Robert Ngeserey has asked residents to be wary of land conmen in the county.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Ngeserey asked the public to be careful when conducting land transactions.

He said that people posing as land agents are traversing some parts of the county luring gullible residents.

“Uasin Gishu residents and Kenyans in general should be careful when conducting land transactions to avoid being duped by conmen,” he said.

The lands CeC also urged members of the public to report people they suspect as conmen. Mr Ngeserey said that land matters are sensitive and should not be dealt with casually.

He at the same time asked residents to make their complaints regarding land matters to the county.

He said the county is closely working with the National Lands Commission (NLC) and the Ministry of Lands to tackle land issues.

Speaking in Eldoret on Friday last week, Mohammed Swazuri, the National Lands Commission chairman warned there were land grabbers targeting public land.

He said the commission had launched investigations into several cases of alleged public land grabbing in Uasin Gishu County.

Swazuri also assured residents that they will soon be issued with land title deeds.
