Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has refuted claims appearing in one of the daily newspaper on Thursday that he is fond of chasing guests to members of the county assembly.
He said this was aimed to tarnish the good name of Uasin Gishu County Assembly. Speaking in his office on Thursday Terer said that no one has been denied a chance to see their MCA since it is their right and they elected them to represent and serve them.
"I was very saddened to read on of the dailies that I have literary chased people from the grassroots coming to meet their MCA. Those claims are false and ill intended since Uasin Gishu County Assembly is open to everyone. I understand that it is hard for electorate to get their MCA at the grassroots and the county assembly is the only place they can get them," he said.
Terer urged the media to be objective in their reporting and make sure that they give right of reply to both parties before airing or writing any story to be consumed by the public.
