Kenya Medical and Dental Practitioners Union (KMDPU) national chairman Dr Samuel Oroko wants police to urgently investigate death threats against him.

Speaking on Tuesday in Nakuru town, Dr Oroko noted that since he reported the matter to the CID offices a week ago, no action has been taken and no arrests have been made.

“I want the police to handle this issue as a matter of urgency because my life is in danger. I reported the matter to them more than a week ago and no action has been taken,” Oroko said.

He said an unknown person has been calling and warning him against fighting for the doctor’s rights lest he will be killed.

“For weeks I have been receiving calls from an unknown person and the person has been threatening me against fighting for the doctor’s welfare. He has promised to kill me if I don’t stop,” he said.

His complaints have come a few days after doctors in Nakuru County resumed work after reaching an agreement with the Nakuru County government. According to the agreement all promotions will be done in September and salary arrears will be met by October.
