The end semester exams are slated to begin next week on Monday and a majority of students had complained that their exam cards were yet to be produced.

Students who addressed this writer on Thursday said that in the event that they will not have the exam cards by Monday, they will be harassed by the invigilators despite the mistake not being theirs.

“Right now we need exam cards and by Monday getting into exam rooms will be a big challenge. I have paid my school fees, yet I will be harassed,” said Catherine Kioko.

However, an official from the varsities academic division said that the delay in the production of exam cards was due to failure by students to register their units online as required.

“All students are supposed to register online for units, and so far only a handful of students have been able to do that, therefore we cannot help everyone,” said Mary Otieno from the academic department.

Atieno who was speaking on Thursday added that a majority of students usually wait until the last minutes before registering the units, something she said is being experienced this semester again.

However, some students have shifted the blame back to the institution saying there were no units to be registered.

“The online unit registration is not working because I take nine units but on the registration portal I only see two units so how am I suppose to register then?” posed Steve Ochieng, a first year criminology student.
