A Kisii based Veteran agriculturist Ken Kenyanya has called on youth in Kisii and its environs to venture into the ever demanding farming of poultry keeping.

According to Ken the field is a viable venture and that would help them earn a better income and also help them empower themselves economically without depending on other sources of neither income nor the government.

He added that youth should consider establishing a strong poultry and sheep fattening farming which he has no doubt that would yield a good profit at the end of the day, which is necessary to meet the needs of the farmers.

“The county and the country at large has potential youths who can venture into staple farming and I firmly believe that if the country is to attain food self-sufficiency the youth of the country must go back to the land and carry out clear farming” said Ken

He called upon youth to stop going in search of white collar jobs when they can establish their own jobs that can really bring in a good income without much hustle.

Ken is a veteran agriculturist who further disclosed that he started his farming while he was young and he had no helper but currently has a big farm where he carry out mixed farming and supplies various schools in Kisii county with food.
