Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi wants opposition leaders to stop politicising development and allow the Jubilee government to work.
Speaking to journalists at Kikuyu town on Monday, Ichungwa said that persistent politicisation of government by opposition leaders will derail development.
Wamatangi claimed that opposition leaders have run out of ideas and are now aiming to make the government fail.
“Opposition leaders led by Raila Odinga should give the government a break and allow it to perform it duties,” he said.
The senator said that the opposition lacks substance and is looking for ways to salvage its influence among Kenyans.
Wamatangi said that calls by opposition to have Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru resign are unrealistic.
He said that corruption allegations against CS Waiguru are politically motivated.
“We will not allow the opposition to frustrate the government development agenda. Some leaders are envious of the work done by Waiguru in the slums," said Wamatangi.
“Before they open their mouth and ask Waiguru to resign they should first explain where the ‘Kazi Kwa Vijana’ money went to,” said Wamatangi.
The senator said that the opposition is seeking ways to redeem itself ahead of the 2017 polls.
Wamatangi urged Jubilee leaders to be steadfast and counter any attempts by the opposition to derail the government agenda.
