Kibera sub-county director of education Benjamin Muthengi has asked education stakeholders in the area to embrace team work to achieve better results.

Ochieng advised all school heads, teachers and parents to work together and uplift education standards.

He was echoing remarks by Olympic Primary head teacher Caleb Ochieng that team work helped him achieve the best performance in emerging the top school in Kibera KCPE exams.

Ochieng who spoke on Friday during the Kibera education day said parents’ role is to support their children's education.

He said he wishes all parents to help their young ones with their homework where necessary and to shun from giving children a lot of work when they are at home that they don’t get enough time for revision.

Teachers on their side have a role to teach pupils and make sure they understand their subjects.

He said pupils should be willing to learn so that they make their dreams come true and change the society.

He also advised pupils who fail exams to take it as a challenge and work harder. "There is always room for improving,’’ said the education officer.
