A woman who allegedly used verbal slurs against a minor has blamed her mother for misquoting her in court.

Stella Mwirigi who was put to her defence before a Nakuru court on Wednesday morning turned the heat on her accuser claiming that she was motivated by witch-hunt.

Mwirigi who has since denied the charges of allegedly calling the 14-year-old girl “a mad person like her mother”, told Resident Magistrate Judge Wakumile Ndururu that she never uttered such words and they were the complainant’s own creation.

"I have nothing personal against the complainant and we have been good neighbours with Rose Mwikali. However, I don’t know why she would frame me over things I never said,” she said.

The alleged incident took place in July 2013 at Bondeni area in Nakuru. The court heard that a scramble to draw water from the plot's watering tap was the cause of the alleged insult.

In her statement before to the police, the minor claims that the accused had the propensity of provoking them and had once told her that they were helpless before her because they had no man to come to their defence.

She further claimed that on the fateful day, the accused mishandled their jerricans and challenged her and her mother to do anything they wished lest she calls her husband to beat them up.

The minor's mother further claimed that the accused was a notorious fellow who was keen on breaching the peaceful co-existence of other tenants in the plot.

A ruling is set for October 28.
