Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Usilah Ngeny has condemned Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter's move to bring a motion to parliament to oust Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over corruption allegations.
Speaking at the Uasin Gishu county government offices on Thursday, Ngeny said that the move by Keter is 'ill informed, out of order', and whose aim is to remove women in office.
"The Cabinet Secretary for Devolution is innocent since she is the one who first blew the whistle of corruption in her ministry, since when has the whistle blower been regarded as the thief ? Keter must style up and instead of him looking for the real culprits, he is only piling corruption allegations on the wrong person," she said.
She added that she will mobilise all women and men who respect women and their rights not to support the censure motion against Waiguru.
"I think the Nandi Hills MP is being used by someone to bring down the Jubilee government, and that he will not succeed whatsoever since Waiguru was constitutionally appointed by the president, he has touched a wrong button and he should be ready for a fight," she added.
