Parents have been advised to work together with teachers to help the 2015 national examinations candidates perform well in their despite earlier challenges.

Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has said that there is the need for parents and teachers to work together during this examination period to ensure that schools perform well despite numerous challenges that learners have faced this year.

Maangi who was wishing KCSE candidates success on Monday at Kisii Town said that despite the year's challenges, he is confident that students are going to do their best and perform well.

"Let our parents and teachers work together during this time so that we can have better results of the ongoing examination when they are released in 2016," said Maangi.

Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who also wished all Nyamira County 2015 candidates success, reiterated Maangi's call for parents and teachers to cooperate for the better results.

"I take this time to wish all 2015 Nyamira and Kisii Counties candidates success as I hope that despise the challenges this year, our children are going to make it," said Bosire.

Some learners in the Gusii region were forced to sit for their national examinations as the five-week teachers strike was ongoing with thousands of learners in public schools staying out of class for the entire period which is normally used to prepare them for the ultimate examination that grades their four-year (KCSE) and eight-year (KCPE) toil.
