Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has urged the Machakos government to set aside more funds for infrastructure development in the sub county.
Speaking at Katangi trading centre after touring the constituency on Saturday, Mwangangi noted that most road networks are in a sorry state.
He cited the Yatta- Katangi-Machakos road, which he said is in poor condition and needs repair.
The MP, while acknowledging the various development projects commissioned by Governor Alfred Mutua, asked the county government to also focus on roads and infrastructure.
He stated that repairing roads and maintain standard infrastructure will encourage business and transport, adding that businessmen and traders are finding it hard to transact businesses because of poor roads.
“I expect the Machakos county government to channel more funds to the roads department in the next Financial Year so that we can have good roads,” he said.
The MP noted that some roads, which were repaired some months ago are already in a bad state.
Mwangangi said that he is in contact with Governor Mutua to ensure that roads in the area are repair immediately.
“We know our Governor is development oriented and that h is going to address our concerns,” he added.
Mwangangi asked Mutua to seek the support of the national government on roads and infrastructure development.
