Several youth drawn from sections of Kibera took to the streets early on Thursday in a demonstration against what they described as wanton wastage of public funds on less priority programs in the area.
Led by Roy Onyango they said for the two years the Sarang'ombe MCA has been in office he had not performed as they had expected yet money was being allocated for development.
The angry youth said there were various projects that have been done by Mr Owino Otieno which were not genuine and termed them a waste of their resources.
The agitated youth, under the banner of the ‘United for Youth Talent Caucus’ stormed the MCAs offices and threatened to pull down the gate under construction.
"Efforts for our empowerment through the available Youth Fund have been thwarted while the MCA keeps talking of nurturing talent," he said.
The youth demanded that the county government adopts measures to incorporate them into decision making and have one of their representatives at the helm of functions that directly affect the youth in the ward.
