ODM rebel MPs should be bracing themselves for tough by-elections in February next year, the party leadership has said.

Through party national chair John Mbadi, ODM said that they were confident to retain the seats with the new aspirants they intend to propose for the elections.

The Suba MP also said that elections which will take place in six constituencies and one ward must be conducted six months before the general polls.

“We want this process to be expeditious so that mini elections are conducted six months before the general elections,” he said.

This comes after ODM executive director Oduor Ong’wen communicated to the registrar of Political Parties seeking removal of the rebellious legislators from the membership register.

“These leaders allowed Jubilee party to misuse them without knowing. Let them carry their own crosses because the party cannot continue accommodating its enemies,” Mbadi said.
