Confirming the accident, Kithimani OCPD Edward Kipsang said that the accident involved a saloon car and a motorbike which was ferrying two women along the busy highway.

He said that the motorbike was trying to overtake another vehicle both heading to Matuu before it collided with a saloon car heading to Thika leaving the bodaboda operator dead and his customers critically injured.

"The accident has involved a saloon car and a motorbike which have collided leaving the bodaboda operator dead and his customers critically injured.

He was trying to overtake before configuring whether road was clear therefore causing the accident," said Kipsang.

According to Kipsang, its ironical the bodaboda operator misbehaved near Kithimani police headquarters causing the accident.

He reiterated that none of the three was in the right attire and to make it worse the bodaboda operator decided to ferry two people in one motorbike which is unacceptable by law.

Kipsang therefore warned bodaboda operators to adhere to road rules for the purpose of avoiding such incidences in future.

The deceased was taken to Matuu median hospital mortuary while the injured two rushed to Matuu level four hospital mortuary.

Both the motorbike and the car were taken to Kithimani police station as investigations starts on whether there were other external factors which might have caused the accident.
