A man was killed in a hit and run vehicle accident in Konza-Wote road in Machakos county.

According to the Machakos deputy base County Commander Jack Ila, the accident was reported at 3 o'clock in the night by a vehicle that didn't stop.

"There was an accident in the Konza-Wote road in Kola and a careless driver hit two pedestrians where one died instantly," said Ila.

Konza residents have accused the road contractors of dismantling the temporary road bumps that the residents had built to reduce accidents. 

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation and are still searching for the person who hit, killed and severely injured the pedestrians.

The injured victim is receiving treatment in Machakos level 5 hospital.
