According to the minister, Nyamira is experiencing enough rains which will help in ensuring that the trees to be planted don’t dry up.

"We have enough rains and therefore, trees we are planning to plant will not dry up. Residents need to team up and ensure more trees are planted on their farms across the county,” he stated.

He assured that Nyamira County and the national governments have collaborated to supply enough trees for planting to the people of Nyamira.

The minister urged police officers not to spare anyone who will be found cutting trees illegally.

"The government banned logging in forests and that must remain. Security officers should not sleep on their job of ensuring that there is no cutting of trees and charcoal burning in Nyamira,” he stated.

He challenged residents to uproot blue gum trees from near rivers and other water sources for the sake of ensuring there is plenty supply of water throughout in Nyamira.
