While he is yet to name any of his favourites for Deputy President post in 2022, a host of politicians have positioned themselves to deputise DP William Ruto.
Over the weekend, even though his allies accused a section of politicians for allegedly fueling split in Jubilee, Ruto maintained that his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta is intact.
"I have never raised such issues (belittling by the president) and I am shocked to see the media fueling the imagined crisis.
"It was out decision to fold up TNA and URP because we want a united country. Let us stop petty politics," said Ruto.
But the DP is in a limbo with regard to potential running mate as Western, Nyanza and Central Kenya regions continues to propose names.
Among the top contenders include Kikuyu MP Kimani Inchung'wa, Mwangi wa Iria (Murang'a), Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Peter Munya, Kindiki Kithure (Tharaka Nithi).
Others are Kenneth Lusaka, Eugene Wamalwa, Amason Kingi (Kilifi), Mwangi Kiunjuri and the latest entry of former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
On Sunday, Kenneth shocked the nation when he shared podium with the DP despite their perennial differences and promised to make his decision by the end of the year.
Despite the numerous options, a crisis is looming in Mt. Kenya after various leaders gave Ruto a condition of picking Kindiki as his running mate if at all he wants backing from the region.
