Kilifi County's Health Department has launched a 100-day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) programme.
Health CeC Dr Anisa Omar launched the programme which commences officially on 23rd March 2018 and ends on 30th June 2018.
"The main reason why we are undertaking this RRI is due to the effects of the long industrial strikes by doctors and nurses for almost the entire 2017," she said on Friday, saying the strike resulted in; long surgery waiting lists, decline in immunization coverage, defaulting by patients on long term medication due to missed appointments such as anti-retroviral, set back on elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV, deliveries by skilled birth attendants.
Some of the activities to be undertaken during the RRI include; surgical camps, outreaches and in-reaches, opening of completed health facilities, distribution of sanitation commodities.
The RRI will be conducted countywide in all the health facilities - dispensaries, health centres and hospitals, with help of health workers.
Anisa revealed that a number of key health stakeholders have also pledged to support the programme through technical and support in kind.
