President Uhuru Kenyatta right-hand man and Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe seems to have changed his tune in the raging 2022 debate.
Murathe has been dodgy on Uhuru’s succession plan especially on whether the Mt Kenya region will back Deputy President William Ruto.
“We don’t know who from other parties will be running and Kenyans will be free to choose. Other people will come out in 2022,” Murathe earlier said.
On Saturday, the former Gatanga MP and a close ally of the First Family said the Jubilee party has a promise to DP Ruto.
Murathe wondered why MPs accompanying Ruto to rallies insist that they are supporting him for the 2022 race yet that is what the party’s position is.
“Some of the loud MPs from Mt Kenya are busy sowing seeds of discord. Why insist that they will support Ruto when that is the succession plan of the party?” Murathe said.
