Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama on Friday morning received a grand reception after the apex court upheld his 2017 election victory.
Nyagarama, accompanied by lands minister Zablon Onchiri and the education minister Gladys Momanyi, landed at Kisumu International Airport.

According to Mr. Onchana the will of the people was respected by the Supreme court.
"Nyagarama will now have humble time to deliver to the electorates after his election was validated by the top court," Onchana noted.
The county boss expressed his happiness following his victory.

"It is the people of Nyamira of Nyamira who have won not me. I'm now focused to work for the people as I promised," said Nyagarama.
He maintained his readiness to work with his main rival to develop Nyamira.
A five bench judge sitting at the Supreme Court in Nairobi on Wednesday upheld Nyagarama's victory.
Justice Njoki Ndung'u, who read the ruling said: "Having scrutinized the evidence from both parties, we find no discrepancies that can lead to nullification. The respondent was validly the elected and the court hereby upholds his victory. The petitioner shall pay all costs."
