Garissa Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure on Wednesday met Berlin FC players just hours to their La Liga visit.
While taking to her social media platform after meeting the regional champions at the parliament buildings, Gure reiterated her commitment to supporting local teams fly high in sports.
"I commit myself to support their club and wished them well as well as they fly out of the country tonight for Spain for a two-weeks LaLiga training. It is an image that gives hope to the youths that indeed Garissa can produce the likes of Mo Salah and Firmino," Gure posted on her Facebook page.
Among the top officials of Berlin FC who met the vocal politician include Ali Olow who is the club's manager, Mohammed Hirmoge (the head coach), Issa Adan and Khalid Yussuf.
In the Safaricom's Chapa Dimba tournament, Berlin FC trounced other regional stars Wajir by 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a barren draw.
This year's regional finals were held at the Garissa Technical Training College (GTTC).
This happens even as more politicians from the region including Garissa MP Aden Duale take up powerful positions in football leadership.
At the moment, Duale is the first ever patron of the Northern Wanderers Football Club.
