A sombre mood engulfed in Kenyan after an Ethiopian Airline which was on it way to Kenyan capital crashed minutes after take off.
Kenya suffered the highest number of casualties followed by Canada and Ethiopia.
Anthony Ngare Wanjohi, a former Journalist with the Standard was among those who perished in the tragic accident.
In less than a month to his demise, his little girl, Sandrine, wrote to him an emotional birthday message that left him in tears.
His last Facebook post that has since moved Kenyans.
Ngare shared a handwritten letter from his 8-year old daughter Sandrine .
He narrated how his eight-year-old daughter handed him a heart-warming letter during his birthday that almost made him cry.
The post which has since gone viral on social media attracted reactions from netizens with most of them expressing heart-felt sympathy to his bereaved daughter.
"Good Morning dad on Friday is your birthday I know I have not that for a gift to tell you so I am writing this letter. Dad thank you for all you have done most years that I am most glad that I have a responsible father. I love my dear father," she wrote.
According to Standard, Ngare worked with the UNESCO and is said to have been instrumental in the establishment of the Kenya Media Sector Working Group.
