Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has finally declared his wealth.

Kidero who is battling corruption case in court claims that he is worth Sh1.3 Billion.

In suit papers filed in court where he has sued the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Kidero says that between 1985 and 2017 when he lost the re-election he had accumulated and saved Sh1.3 Billion.

Kidero says that the 1.3 Billion includes salaries, executive allowances, bonuses and stock exchange.

According to Kidero, he has Sh700 Million investments, Sh270 Million rental earnings, Sh200 Million stock Exchange in other countries and Sh300 Million from local stock exchanges.

The governor through his lawyer Tom Ojienda says that he made his money clean and can account for every penny.

He denies having looted any public funds as the government is claiming.

The former Governor says that he is a hard worker and people are fighting for his hard earned wealth.

Kidero has been linked to alleged misappropriation of public funds when he served as Mumias Managing Director (MD).

He however denies the claim terming it a political tool by his detractors.

Kidero now accuses the EACC and DPP of frustrating him in the name of fighting corruption.

He wants the court to bar the EACC from raiding his home and office.

In August, Kidero along with former Nairobi county officials among them secretary Lilian Ndegwa was charged with mismanagement of public funds.

He is out on a Sh2 million bail.
