Recently, Apostle James Maina Nganga of Neno Evangelism Centre sent a stern warning to Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai telling him to keep off church affairs or face dire consequences.
Nganga in the viral social media video in a nutshell tells Kaikai to concentrate on news and make-ups because evangelism doesn't require education Kaikai had suggested.
But even as the controversial Man of God seemed to bedevil the media in a way, do Nganga and his ilk appreciate the role that the media play in the society?
The answer is big YES and that is why some of them have their own media houses. Below is a list of TV stations owned by Kikuyu pastors.
1. Sasa TV
It is owned by the same scandal-ridden Apostle James Maina Nganga. The station basically airs music and Neno Evangelism preachings mainly by the apostle himself. It mainly broadcasts in kiswahili language.
2. Gikuyu TV
The Kikuyu language TV station is owned by Bishop Jeremiah Waweru of Church of the Lord based along Thika Superhighway.
The station is mainly secular and it was put on spot last year by KFCB for airing vulgar DJ Afro movies during the watershed period.
3. MBCI TV
The Nakuru based Kiswahili TV station is based in Nakuru. It is owned by Apostle John Kimani Williams of Kingdom Seekers Fellowship. It mainly broadcasts Christian programmes, preachings, music and news.
4. Nuru TV
The TV station is owned by the famous Pastor Pius Muiru of Maximum Miracles Centre. It airs Muiru's preachings and Christian music.
