Lawyer Miguna Miguna has slammed opposition leader Raila Odinga for attending the 60th death anniversary of his father in law the late Dr Nehemiah Oyoo.
Raila was on Saturday in Gem, Siaya County for the function, a move that has angered the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant who was until early last year, his close ally.
In a tweet on Sunday night, Migua accused Raila of being obsessed with a person who died a long time ago, instead of concentrating on matters to do with the welfare of Kenyans.
He noted that it would be better for the former prime minister to push for things to do with employment and food for Kenyans, instead of 'marking the death of a man who died before 90 per cent of Kenyans were born'.
According to the controversial lawyer, such actions are the reason behind Kenya's inability to come out of the third world bracket.
"Raila Odinga's father-in-law died 60 years ago -decades before 90% of Kenyans were born. Instead of fighting for freedom, employment, food, housing and dignity for Kenyans, he is marking the death of a man who died before independence. You see why Kenya is a 3rd world country?" he said.
Mr Nehemiah Oyoo is the father to Raila's spouse Dr Ida Odinga.
Raila and Miguna have not been in good terms since Raila's March 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a move that angered Miguna who maintains that Uhuru is not a good leader.
Consequently, the former Raila aide has since turned into his leading critic.
