Nandi governor Stephen Sang has criticized his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho over his claims that opposition chief Raila Odinga had assigned him to fight Deputy President William Ruto.
Sang, a close ally of DP Ruto noted that it wa senseless for allies of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader to accept the handshake and still keep fighting Ruto.
He noted that the handshake was meant to bring unity amongst all Kenyans and not only a few individuals.
“It does not make sense that a deputy party leader of ODM will tell us that Raila Odinga told him that the handshake between Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta is perfect but the other assignment given to him is to fight William Ruto,” said Sang.
The youthful county boss also linked the Mombasa governor to illegal drug trafficking in the country and reminded him that he cannot hide by attacking the DP.
“We are losing an entire generation of young people into drugs. The people who practice the illegal business of drug trafficking are known and my friend Joho cannot hide under attacking William Ruto,” he said.
The governor was speaking during a Sunday service at Chepterit Catholic church.
