The residents claim that the two are responsible for the murder of a retired teacher, Jennifer Malag, who was found dead on May 15.

Led by the Isack Ojiambo Owiro, brother to the deceased, they nabbed and delivered the suspects to the law enforcers at the Awendo Police Station.

The arrests and detention of the two was confirmed by Awendo Sub County Police Commander Mary Musyoka who said that investigations into the alleged murder have began.

Owiro blamed the situation on laxity from the police, claiming that the law enforcers have been reluctant to arrest and prosecute the suspects who are well known to the locals.

He claimed that the police have "failed to arrest the suspects despite several reports made to Awendo Police Station about their alleged involvement in the murder," reports the Citizen Digital.

Jennifer's body was found lying in a pool of blood inside her house on May 15.
