A section of Kenyans are calling for the resignation of the governor who is in police custody, but his supporters are now fighting back targeting Ms Otieno’s family.

Ms Otieno’s parents, Mr Douglas Otieno and Mrs Melida Auma say that his supporters have now resorted to mocking them despite the pain they are going through due to the death of their daughter.

They gave an example of what happened on Monday, and Tuesday outside the Milimani Court in Nairobi, when they had gone to court to follow proceedings of Obado’s application to have him released on bail.

Outside the court, there were protesters carrying placards with obscene comments targeted at their slain daughter.

“We were escorted by police officers and left through the door used by judges and not the main gate to avoid an unruly crowd,” Mr Otieno told the Nation.

The Migori County boss is due in court today. Judge Jessie Lessit will make a determination on whether he will be released on bail or not.

He has already denied charges of aiding the death of Mr Otieno, who until her death early this month was seven months pregnant.
