The Teachers Service Commission has honored 10,000 teachers across the country with promotions after conducting a thorough interview effective May 3.
"Letters for the successful applicants will be released to respective TSC county directors starting Monday (tomorrow) for onward transmission to the teachers,” a letter from TSC read.
In March and April 27,000 teachers were short- listed for interviews including secondary, primary school teachers, head teachers and principals.
Also promoted include lecturers in Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions (TVET), Curriculum Support Officers, tutors in teacher training colleges, and officers at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (Cemastea) and the Educational Assessment and Resource Centre (EARC).
"It is anticipated that all letters will have been dispatched in two weeks’ time," said TSC’s head of communication Kihumba Kamotho.
Knut Secretary-General Wilson Sossion said Kenyan will see more of this happening in the service as more teachers should be promoted as a way of motivating them.
