Two middle-aged men were on Tuesday arraigned before a Kisii court and charged for killing a woman they raped.
The court heard that Erick Onkundi and Michael Motari gang-raped the deceased Catherine Sarange Ongeri before they killed her on 2nd June 2017 at Jogoo area within Kisii town in Kisii County.
The prosecution further told the court that after raping Mrs Ongeri, they killed her and threw her body at a hole near Kisii High school where it was recovered.
The suspects appeared before resident magistrate Rose Ougu but denied the charges leveled against them.
The suspects pleaded with the court to release them on bond but, the prosecution opposed the plea.
Magistrate Ougu ruled that the suspects will remain in custody until Friday 10th August 2018 when she shall make a ruling whether they will be released on bond.
The deceased is yet to be buried because the locals opposed the burial plans until the suspects are jailed. Her body is still lying at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary.
