Did you know that you can work smarter upcountry where power blackout is a way of life using your smartphone?

I realised this several years ago just before, Grace, our second born upgraded my status in society with a smartphone.

Besides sharing photos with peeps on WhatsApp and Messenger, a smartphone has other features that could improve your life if you do the following:

1. Know your smartphone’s potential

Depending on what kind of activities you engage in, it is highly important to understand the capability of your smartphone.

If you predominantly use Microsoft Office Word, you need no laptop to complete a word document. You can comfortably do it using your smartphone.

2. Exercise self-discipline the smart way

The smartphone makes reading breaking news, motivational topics on soft copy easy and enriching.

Whether you are into politics, celebrity gossip, or the gospel truth; there is something to stay glued on.

But how do you escape the allure of the entertainment and all the other online stuff? You do this by setting a purpose of using your smartphone at a particular time for a specific reason.

If you do this, you will have more time to complete important tasks other than spending it glued to the screen of your smartphone catching up with the day’s trend on social media.

3. Purpose to improve yourself using a smartphone

In this day of Do-It-Yourself (DIY), a smartphone is a great tool for self-improvement.  You can learn new things and use that knowledge to make extra income or even save costs by doing something that you probably could have paid someone else to do.

4. Set your priorities right

You power the smartphone first thing in the morning to check out the texts, phone calls you missed in the wee hours of the night.

You take between 15 – 45 minutes to do this and at the end of the day, you have lost an hour or more on mundane activities.

Though you have a life away from regular work engagement, it is important to always stick to the most important tasks of the day by any means possible.

5. Learn new things

Every day is a learning day. There is always something to learn and you could dedicate some hours in a week to learn new things about the features of a smartphone.

By this, you expand your scope of knowledge and you could bump into a feature which you will benefit from perhaps financially.
