Atwoli says he has never dreamed of being a politician and even if he is given a free political position he can never take it.

Speaking during the Cotu Stewards meeting in Nairobi on Saturday, Atwoli said that he will never join politics.

He said that being a politician is like being a prisoner.

Atwoli stated that his agenda is to champion the interests and welfare of workers across the country and the world.

"To me being president or someone who says they want to be president is nothing because that is the first prisoner of the state," Atwoli said in an event televised live on Citizen TV.

Atwoli said that his comments on the 2022 succession politics do not mean he is eyeing to join politics.

The Cotu boss has been vocal on the forthcoming 2022 general election.

Atwoli, a critic of Deputy President (DP) William Ruto has even claimed that Ruto's name will not be on the presidential ballot in the 2022 general election.

The Cotu boss is also advocating for a referendum which he says will be held this year or early next year.

Atwoli claims that referendum is a must for the country to get good leadership and services.

A section of politicians allied to Ruto has castigated Atwoli, saying that he has no say on who will be president in 2022 general election.

The politicians also want Atwoli held responsibly should anything happen to DP Ruto between now and 2022.
