Embattled Homabay County Assembly Speaker Elizabeth Ayoo has received a relief after the court annulled her recent ouster.
The house a week ago ousted her in a sitting where all members voted in favour of her ouster motion.
The Ward Representatives kicked her out over allegations of incompetence and disrespect to the members, and county staff.
The Kisumu High Court, however, on Tuesday reinstated her, directing that she resumes her duties.
Employment and Labour Relations Judge James Rika further directed Homabay Police Station OCS to ensure that her operations are not interfered with henceforth.
Further, the judge noted that there should be no attempt to appoint another person to take over as the new speaker until the case is heard and concluded, reports the Citizen Digital.
In her defence through lawyer Joshua Kiptoo, Ayoo said that she was unduly ousted as the house was on recess.
She argued that she was as well not given time to answer to her ouster allegations.
Justice Rika directed both sides to appear before Justice Nduma Nderi on December 4 for a continuation of the hearing.
Speaking at the court premises after the declaration, Ayoo welcomed the ruling, calling upon the MCAs to respect the order.
