Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba has condemned residents of Omosasa village, West Mugirango constituency in Nyamira for setting on fire GK vehicle.
The GK vehicle was reduced to ashes by fire after four probation officers stationed at Nyamira South Sub County were subjected to a mob justice Monday evening by angry villagers.
The county security boss confirmed that residents who participated in the heinous act will be nabbed to face prosecution.
"Omosasa residents should produce those who set the GK vehicle on fire failure to which the whole village will be in trouble," he stated.
The commissioner warned members of the public against taking the law into their hands.
"The probation officers were in the village for work and it is unfortunate that the villagers decided to attack them. Those behind the attack must be produced," he stated.
He appealed to residents to forgive each other especially during this 'Lent season'.
The county boss said the probation officers sustained injuries during the attack.
"The officers are being treatment at Nyamira county hospital as probe continues to bring the suspects to book," he added.
