He was speaking on Friday at Miruka where he was accompanied by Nyamira county boss John Nyagarama, county commissioner Amos Mariba.

"Locals chiefs in Kisii and Nyamira counties need to ensure the registration exercise is running smoothly for everyone to register. Chiefs should get into serious work and not the laxity I have been hearing about among our local chiefs," he said.

Matiang'i reminded the chiefs that they are government representatives in the local villages.

"Huduma number is a national government program and therefore, chiefs ensure the program is reaching to every person in deep villages. The registration kitties should be taken good care of while people are being registered," he noted.

He challenged Nyamira and Kisii county governments to mobilize residents to turn up in large numbers at the Huduma registration centers so that they can be registered.

The super Cabinet secretary asked those opposed to the registration to stop associating the registration with evil.
