DCI boss George Kinoti has responded to claims that his department conducted skewed investigations into the attempted murder of Garissa’s CEC, Idris Mukhtar.
The DCI has been on the receiving end from city lawyer Charles Kanjama who cites that the conspirators of the Mukhtar’s attempted murder have been shielded. The Law Society of Kenya Nairobi branch chairman has cast aspersion on Garissa Governor, Ali Korane. However, Kinoti in a statement on Thursday absolved the DCI of the allegations stating that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder."I wish to confirm that investigations into the matter is ongoing and we have two persons namely Mohamed Hussein Aden and Juliet Charity Njoki and have been charged. I wish to assure the family and the advocate involved that our investigations are focused and are not meant to assist any party to achieve any collateral purpose," reads the statement in part.
Kinoti added that the DCI conducts investigations based on facts and not “partisan interests of any of the affected parties.”
He also appealed to anyone with information about the attempted murder to share it with the DCI so that appropriate action can be taken."In this regard, any person who has information and or evidence to connect any suspect is at liberty to approach my office and share that information for appropriate action," he added.
