President Uhuru Kenyatta's decision to cancel a trip scheduled for Kisii and Nyamira Counties on January 23rd and 24th was informed by the fact that there was no readily available project to launched in Nyamira.

State House cancelled the trip last week with a section of local politicians claiming that Uhuru had to stay in Nairobi due to the recent terror attack.

"The trip was cancelled because of the ongoing security challenges. He will come at a later date. As local leadership, we had put everything ready for his trip," said North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.

In the trip, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was to host Uhuru and the two were to start by launching a modern Oncology center in Kisii County.

But former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire argues that disorganization from the local leadership and lack of development projects informed State House's decision.

"They should tell people the truth. There was nothing to be launched and that's why State House postponed. The county had nothing to show yet our Kisii brothers had a lot yo showcase," he claimed.

Governors John Nyagarama and James Ongwae had planned the trip at Kisumu State House when Uhuru visited in December with the help of Mr Raila Odinga.

Both county governments are under ODM and Raila Odinga was bringing the president as a good gesture of blessings friendship after the historical Handshake.
