Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Sunday made a surprise birthday celebration of one of his aides inside a helicopter.
Joho who has been busy campaigning in Rift Valley surprised his Chief Officer Juliana Cherera shortly he arrived in Mombasa after holding a series of events in Deputy President William Ruto's political backyard where he has been since Saturday.
The county chief is said to have ordered for the birthday cake to be prepared without Cherera's knowledge and immediately he arrived in Mombasa, he is said to have called Cherera inside the helicopter where the cake was cut from as other county employees cheered on.
Cherera is one of the county employees so close to Joho that she accompanies him to some of his political meetings in and outside the county.
Cherera is a Chief Officer at the Governor's office.
She is also said to be part of the team that arranges Joho's events either in Mombasa or outside the Coastal County.
In photos shared on Twitter, Joho is seen giving a piece pf the birthday cake to Cherera and other county staff members present.
Joho is described by Kenyans online as an easy going leader who mingles with both the mighty and people who come from humble backgrounds.
His dress cord is also an attraction to many especially the youth who admire his leadership style.
