South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has been told to respect Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
Bomorenda ward MCA John Ombati speaking to the press in Kisii town on Thursday slammed the first term MP for undermining Matiang'i.
"MP Osoro should focus serving the people of South Mugirango elected him during the August 8 2017 polls because of sympathy. He is likely to be voted out in 2022 because of lacking respect for Matiang'i," claimed the ward representative.
He argued that MP Osoro is seeking relevance in the Gusii community politics ahead of 2022 polls.
The MCA said the Kenya National Congress (KNC) Party allied MP will not get political mileage by insulting Matiang'i and any other leader.
"The lawmaker need to know that marketing his master Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the coming 2022 polls does not mean he should insult other leaders. Matiang'i is a national who must be respected and be supported while discharging his duties," added MCA.
Hon. Ombati challenged elected leaders to embrace peace, unity and harmony for the sake of realizing accelerated development in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
